After many years in the planning José Saavedra joins forces with Grammy nominated Puerto Rican songwriter and producer Walter Morciglio to present Conversos, a collection of contemporary Puerto Rican Poetry put into song. As Saavedra’s previous works, Conversos explores the territory of Latin American acoustic guitar music this time to blend them with Morciglios territory of electronica and pop, creating a blend hard to attach to a specific genre. Conversos (Converts/Together with Verse), as the Spanish title suggests is an exploration of words in their poetic form. It is also a journey where two songwriters are converted to an imaginary religion or faith where the path towards illumination is the process of discovering the power of poems by converting them into songs.  Special guest poet Avotcja.

Walter Morciglio: Morciglio's career as a singer songwriter, lyricist, poet, studio guitarist, sound engineer album producer as well as concerts and show promoter/producer is well known and respected in Puerto Rico's contemporary music scene. A two-time Latin Grammy nominee for his String For Kids productions 2007-2008 where he also serves as composer, arranger, guitarist and sound engineer, he had also work with music for theater and television. He had composed, arranged and record themes for short films and movies. As a poet, Morciglio has been very active. Among some other recognitions, his collection of poemas ‘un mundo dentro de un mundo dentro de un mundo’ received one of the Honorary Prizes given by the Ateneo Puertorriqueño in 2006.

Jose Saavedra: José Saavedra has been developing his musical career as a guitarist and singer songwriter for the last fifteen years. Deeply rooted in the acoustic traditions of Latin American and world music genres, his music explores the possibilities of creating a tangible visual recreation of stories told through song. José Saavedra has released three albums: Ver Cada Ver (To See Every Sight) 2007, Versos Reversos (Verse Reverse) 2005, Veredas Verdes (Green Pathways) 2004 as well as scores for independent films related to human rights in the borderlands.
