Bay Area Chileans form a group in solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Chile.
A meeting was held at La Peña Cultural Center on Sunday, February 28, 2010 with a group of Chileans and North Americans that resulted in the creation of the organization Mano a Mano Con Chile (Hand in Hand with Chile).
Mano a Mano Con Chile is planning various events and artistic activities over the next month in which they hope to net a minimum of $10,000 to help support the thousands of victims left in the wake of the earthquake that hit Central Chile last Saturday. Among the planned activities is the Cadena de la Cocina Solidaria Chilena, a weekly series of typical chilean breakfasts and dinners in private homes and a benefit concert.

Se crea grupo de solidaridad con los damnificados
del terremoto en Chile, en el Área de la Bahía
Reunidos en el Centro Cultural La Peña, el día domingo 28 de febrero, 2010, un grupo de Chilenos residentes y ciudadanos estadounidenses crearon la organización de solidaridad Mano a Mano Con Chile.
Con variados eventos y actividades artísticas, la organización planea juntar en las próximas cuatro semanas un mínimo de 10 mil dólares para apoyar a los miles de damnificados del fuerte terremoto ocurrido en Chile el pasado sábado 27 de febrero.
Entre las actividades a realizarse se encuentra la Cadena de la Cocina Solidaria Chilena, una serie semanal de desayunos y cenas con recetas típicas chilenas en diversos hogares de la comunidad y un concierto de beneficio.
