Since 1975, La Peña has been an important community space that promotes social justice and cultural understanding through the arts, education and community action. Join us at our Open House as we celebrate our anniversary with performances of our talented student ensembles ranging from Mexican music to Latin American Kids Chorus to Latin Jazz to Hip Hop to Puerto Rican bomba. This children's concert takes place on Saturday morning, June 9, 2007 at La Peña, 3105 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley. The Guitarra Mágica, or magical guitar, of the renowned Jose-Luis Orozco will transport you on a musical journey through Latin American history, language and culture. This is a multicultural sing-along, clap along, move-along show with folk songs and activities. Your entire family will be humming in Spanish for weeks!
